Scout Flyer

Scout Flyers are the Vinci's airborne scout unit. Although one is available at the start of any skirmish map, more Scout Flyers can produced at an Aerodrome.

Description[]

Utilizing a unique corkscrew propeller, the Vinci Scout Flyer doesn't look like it should fly, but it does—and quite well. Fast and agile, the Scout Flyer can be used quite effectively to spot for some of the awesome long-range guns of the Vinci artillery. The Flyers can also be upgraded with Gun Drone pods; these fire a small parachute-delivered steam gun that peppers the battlefield with bullets, causing a great deal of havoc and damage.^[1]

Overview[]

Unarmed but posing as a small and fast unit; Scout Flyers traverse the terrain for new possible lands for their owners' to expand on. Send one, on Auto-Explore, to have it unveil the world beyond your borders.

They do not have weapons on their own but their upgrades allow them to deploy nasty drone weapon platforms to take enemies by surprise.

Not much is available to use Scout Flyers rather than having them explore the map. However their upgrades should allow them to be of help in times of desperate need.

Powers[]

Power	Description
Gun Drone	Available after the Improved Scout Flyer is researched. The Scout Flyer deploys a fire-and-forget gun drone that slowly descends on the battlefield, shooting at ground forces.
Air Mine Drone	Available after the Super Scout Flyer is researched. Deploys a nasty surprise for flyers whom come chasing after the Scout. It slowly descends to the ground however and explodes.
Bomb Drone	Available after the Ultra Scout Flyer is researched. Releases an explosive treat for enemy buildings. The drone explodes once it makes contact with the ground, but it can be shot down mid air like the other drones.

Upgrades[]

Upgrade	Description
Improved Scout Flyer	Researched at the Aerodrome. Can use Gun Drone power to inflict light fire-and-forget damage. Best against lightly armored foes.
Super Scout Flyer	Researched at the Aerodrome; requires Large City and Improved Scout Flyer upgrade. Can use Air Mine power to inflict light anti-air damage.
Ultra Scout Flyer	Researched at the Aerodrome; requires Great City and Super Scout Flyer upgrade. Can use Bomb Drone power to inflict explosive ground damage.

Prototype	Description
1 Spy Scout Flyer	Researched at the Prototype Factory; Tier 1 prototype. Creates 1 Spy Scout. Increases all Scout Flyers' health by 20% and speed by 10%.
